About Gene Tracers

Gene Tracers is run by me, Tracey Horrell. I have over 25 years of experience in genealogical research through tracing my own family history in various directions.

Since then I have undertaken courses with Pharos Training & Tutoring Limited and the Society of Genealogists 

In 2014, I achieved the Family History Skills & Strategies (Intermediate) Certificate run by Pharos and the Society of Genealogists, and in 2019 achieved the Family History Skills & Strategies (Advanced) Certificate run by the same body.

I also have a BA(Hons) degree in English Literature, and currently transcribe parish records for a voluntary project.

I am a full Member of The Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA), the professional body for genealogists who maintain a strict code of conduct, as well as currently holding the position of Treasurer and Membership Secretary for the association.

I am a member of the Berkshire Family History Society and the Oxfordshire Family History Society.

I am registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissions Office (ICO), and Gene Tracers complies with the latest Data Protection Act 2018, and the UK’s General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR).
